Hi Genevieve, you are so welcome and I love doing the research! I am happy that you found it useful. The last Germanic feast I will be covering is Winternights and the research for that is quite daunting, but I am up for the challenge!

Hi. This was extremely interesting thank you. Just one question I hope you are able to answer. Where does the Druid religion fit in with this? I'm not a historian or expert, but it was understood Midsummer Solstice has been around a long time and celebrated by the Druids, in particular. Wondering now if their dates have changed over time. The story rewritten, so to speak?

Hi Lilybet, sadly there is no historical evidence that proves that the Druids celebrated the summer solstice. Everything we know about the Druids would honestly fit onto a dozen pages of a small booklet and even this ‘evidence’ comes from Greek and Romans writers (Caesar, Pliny the Elder and Tacitus). The idea that Stonehenge was built by the Druids or associated with them began in the 17th century by a man called John Aubrey who studied stone circles. He believed that because Stonehenge was pre-Roman built by the ancient Britons, looked like a religious structure and their priests were the Druids then it must be a Druid temple. The idea caught on and has persisted ever since. I have written an article called the Celtic Wheel of the Year, which you will find really helpful, where I share the Coligny calendar which is a calendar possibly crafted by Druids. I am no expert myself, solely passionate about discovering our real history. A new history has sadly been rewritten, influenced by the Romantics, Wicca and antiquaries of the 18th and 19th centuries. I hope I have managed to answer your question :)
